D.EL.ED INTERNSHIP AT NARESHWADI, DAHANU

Event Details

Smt. S.K.Somaiya Junior College of Education organised school internship programme for D.El.Ed. students at Sm.t Leelaben M.Kotak School Nareshwadi, Dahanu. The goal of the internship at Nareshwadi was to provide an experience of being a teacher in a semi-rural set up different from students' urban and metropolitian teaching experience. The internship was conducted for four days between 8^th January to 11^th January 2025.

Highlights of the Internship

1.  D.El.Ed. Students Lessons: As a part of internship student-teachers delivered lessons on various subjects like Marathi, English, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Craft, Drawing and Physical Education.

2. Cultural programme by D.El.Ed. Students: Students organised in the cultural programmes for Nareshwadi school children where dance performances were organised for children based on poems in their textbooks.

3. Nature Trail: With the purpose of integrating D.EL.Ed. students’ theoretical knowledge of Environmental Science with practical knowledge a nature trail was organised. D.EL.Ed. students learned about farming, biodiversity, ecosystem, environmental protectio. 

4. Focus on Physical Education: Everyday  students gathered for physical education. Students also performed  Lezim and Rumal Kavayat in front of the Nareshwadi school children and staff.  

5. Contribution of D.El.Ed. Faculty: Our D.El. Ed. Faculty members conducted guidance sessions for grade 10 students like Mathematics, Science, English, Marathi and Hindi. Especial training was provided to Nareshwadi school teachers for English Language.
